I've been working on balance and self-care. Even though I am so excited to see my content come to life, sometimes it's a lot lol.

Between recording a podcast, managing a website, blogging, and social media, it's hard to find the free time to focus. This is all while having a full time job, too. 😅

The library has become part of that self-care. Not only will it be my source for books, but it will provide resources for me to continue the work I'm doing on and for myself. Reading forces me to slow down, to stop, to be mindful of the moment I'm in. I'm not surprised. It was my greatest escape when I was younger. Now it will become a sanctuary of sorts.

Some weeks are easier than others, but lately I've had to be a little extra diligent to make sure I check in with myself so that I can keep going. I say this to remind you that it's ok for you to do this for yourself, too.

Get off the cross, honey. Easter's over. What are you trying to prove? Because we have already decided that we don't have to prove our worth to anyone but ourselves.

So say "no" when you can, rest when you need to, and water the flowers that grow.

Work has been super busy, so I haven't had the time to create as much as I'd like, but hopefully things will quiet down in a couple weeks. I have also been practicing some new habits for my own self-care which is very important.

Just a little reminder to invest in yourself and the things that feed you. The rest just isn't that important💜

Sunday dinner was straight outta Appalachia.
Don’t ask me which ancestors I listen to when I cook. All I know is that they’re loud, they never agree, and I don’t listen anyway lol

Is it just me, or does warm cornbread and melted butter make you want to curl up into a ball of happy? This is why I don’t make it very often. I could eat half a pan with a stick of butter and not blink. Regardless of culture, what is your comfort meal that brings joy to your soul?

Here's a reminder to be patient with yourself. I have definitely been trying mine. As I continue to expand my horizons, I wonder if I am stretching myself too thin. Then I remind myself that I have stretched myself thinner for less rewarding things.

My goal isn't to overextend, but I do find consolation in knowing that I am working this hard for myself. And I hope that you will be patient with me, too, as I try to edit my way out of this mess lol
